New York launch Adidas Originals x Star Wars collaboration.

It was a slightly overcast Thursday morning, with New Yorkers rushing through Midtown to work, coffee cup in one hand and Blackberry in another. All in all, your regular mid-week morning except for one thing– a galactic Imperial March sharing the Times Square sidewalk with pedestrians. Starting from Foot Locker on 34th Street, Sith Lord Darth Vader breathed and led a convoy of 20 Stormtroopers.

The invasion of George Lucas’ iconic villains comes as an opening note for the launch of the highly anticipated Adidas Originals x Star Wars collaboration for which Shop Around produced (for Sid Lee) the animated introduction at the end of 2009. While the campaign had already hit some other parts of the world including Singapore and Taiwan, the New York City launch comes packed with more power, and more Stormtroopers.
